Climbing Mountains

Our modern world is rapidly crumbling faster perhaps than we can hold the pieces together. As we face unknown and seemingly insurmountable challenges ahead of us of climate change and authoritarianism, “Climbing Mountains” explores relationship to challenge and perseverance, and what beauty they offer despite perceived hardship. Using the physical and visual terrain of mountain landscapes, and spiritual significance of mountain mythology in Jewish tradition surrounding the holiday of Shavuot, the works bring together printmaking, collage and painting in mixed media explorations.

This series is the first installment of a body of work that will continue through daily mixed media paintings over the course of the Omer period between Passover and Shavuot.
